An advanced AI-powered camera-alert system designed to protect endangered wildlife and communities
Poaching, illegal logging, and human-wildlife conflict have escalated to alarming levels, posing a grave threat to the survival of iconic mammal species and threatened tropical forests within our lifetime. Unfortunately, there is currently a lack of affordable technology to support understaffed agencies to effectively prevent such threats.
To address this pressing challenge, RESOLVE has joined forces with industry leaders such as Intel, CVEDIA, and VVDN to develop TrailGuard™ AI—a groundbreaking camera-based alert system powered by artificial intelligence. This innovative system is designed to identify specific wildlife species, humans, and vehicles, instantly sending real-time image alerts via GSM, long-range radio, or satellite networks. Remarkably compact and concealable along trails, TrailGuard AI operates as an autonomous security solution for national parks, diligently monitoring potential threats to both wildlife and local communities. Its deployment and trial installations span 15 countries worldwide, ranging from the Serengeti to the tropical rainforests of Indonesia and in critical tiger habitats in India and Nepal. Some of our field partners and clients include APRIL Asia, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Wildlife Conservation Society, Working Dogs for Conservation, Clemson University, Frankfurt Zoological Society, Mara Elephant Project, Conservation South Luangwa, Snow Leopard Conservancy, and the National Tiger Conservation Authority of India.
In response to the growing demand for this transformative technology, RESOLVE is committed to scaling TrailGuard to make it as accessible and affordable as possible, ensuring its widespread adoption globally across wildlife reserves and local communities. RESOLVE continues to drive innovation in conservation tools through Nightjar—a social impact enterprise dedicated to crafting durable, cutting-edge devices for the protection and monitoring of wildlife, combating invasive species, and safeguarding Indigenous communities. TrailGuard AI is the first product of Nightjar.
