RESOLVE is pleased to announce the appointment of Carolyn Burns as Director, and Mayer Ngomesia as Senior Expert in our Sustainable Resources Program. The program works to improve the social, environmental, and development contribution of the natural resource sector and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.

Carolyn brings a depth of experience designing and leading multi-stakeholder collaboration in the mining sector, most recently with the Devonshire Initiative and NetPositive. She brings experience working with industry, governments, community representatives, and civil society to promote sustainable natural resource development across the world.

Mayer has extensive experience solving complex social and environmental challenges in natural resource development and supply chains, with a focus on investment and due diligence in the minerals sector. Mayer has worked with the United Nations, as a private consultant, and with the Diamond Development Initiative prior to its merger into RESOLVE's Sustainable Resources Program.

Carolyn and Mayer join a vibrant, growing program that includes diverse projects such as the Public-Private Alliance for Responsible Minerals Trade, Community-Smart Consultation and Consent, the FPIC Solutions Dialogue, and Regeneration, which includes Salmon Gold. Carolyn, who will be based in Toronto, and Mayer, who will be primarily based in Kenya, will be joining an international team including 10 others located in the United States, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Sierra Leone.

"I am thrilled to join RESOLVE's Sustainable Resources team," said Carolyn. "It's up to all of us to ensure that natural resources are developed and used responsibly. Over the past 5 years, I've learned so much from the Devonshire Initiative about the opportunities for multi-stakeholder development in the natural resources sector, and I'm excited to join a team that shares this approach and creates spaces where people from different sectors can collaborate and create and build solutions. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with DI members, as well as the many stakeholders and rights holders who are engaged in RESOLVE's projects."

Mayer said, "RESOLVE delivers results. It has a distinctive reputation for forging innovative partnerships, which underpin sustainable solutions. I'm thrilled to join RESOLVE's fabulous, global team, and look forward to building on my experience navigating social, business, and political economy realities on the ground, as part of RESOLVE's Sustainable Resources program."

Carolyn and Mayer are joining RESOLVE and our Sustainable Resources team at a key juncture when we've launched a series of new initiatives and are poised for even greater impact. Their experiences reinforce our brand, which is built on innovation, collaboration, and impact. We're pleased to welcome our new colleagues.
