Summary of Position

The Manager, Finance and Administration plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of RESOLVE and its related entities including social enterprises. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial and Enterprise Officer, this position oversees the day-to-day financial operations, contract and grant management, and general administration and operations functions.

Our headquarters are in Washington, D.C., with staff and partners across North America, Africa, and Europe. We work on local, regional, national, and global projects.

Position Responsibilities

Financial and Budget Management

  • Develop and manage various budgets, including operating, workforce planning, and grant budgets.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate funding for operations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for leadership.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Manage inter-entity financial and operational processes
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Contracts/Grants Management

  • Review and ensure all contracts adhere to RESOLVE policies
  • Review, approve, and sign contracts and grants.
  • Administer contracts and grants, tracking high-level milestones.
  • Manage contractual relationships with contractors and grant funders.
  • Lead quarterly discussions with program directors on their projects, actual financial results, providing insights and analysis.

Administration

  • Oversee the administration of office operations, including facilities management, equipment, procurement, and IT support
  • Manage business registrations, licenses, and permits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate insurance policies to mitigate organizational risks.
  • Manage human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration.
  •  Manage knowledge management tools and systems to facilitate efficient sharing and retrieval of organizational knowledge. 

Other Duties:

  • Assist the CFEO with financial planning, strategy development, risk management and implementation of new policies and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Personnel Management  

Supervise and mentor a finance associate.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in managing employee expense reports and reimbursements.
  • Experience in a non-profit or project-based environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

Technical Competencies

  • Proficiency in general ledger, financial analysis and reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in expense management software and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience and education, in the range of $76,634-$103,682 USD for this position. RESOLVE offers excellent benefits, including: medical and dental insurance; retirement contributions (after 1 year, RESOLVE contributes 6% of salary, with an additional 3% employee matching option); generous family, vacation, and sick leave; and long-term disability.
