To date, we have developed draft maps for artisanal diamonds (in Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, and Sierra Leone), gold (in Colombia, DRC, Ghana, and Peru), and tantalum (in Colombia and DRC). Please view these maps on the linked pages, and share your feedback via the comment form.
These maps were developed by an American University graduate student practicum, with guidance from the Council, the working group, and RESOLVE staff . While these are incomplete, we offer them as a starting point for those interested in understanding trends in the production and trade of these minerals. We hope to “crowd-source” the refinement of these maps, and readers are invited to provide feedback and additions via the comment page.
RESOLVE wishes to acknowledge Adam Blackwell for his insights and Hrach Gregorian, Alisha Sunderji, Dana Hoyes, Daniel Gauthier, Matthew Tramonti, Megan Bromberg, and Jessica Ordoñez for their work on the maps.
