Jen Peyser, Senior Mediator, Director of Ethical Resource program

Biography

Jen Peyser is a Senior Mediator and Director of RESOLVE’s Ethical Resource program, where she designs and leads proactive, global, and multi-stakeholder partnerships. She also advises companies, agencies, and other leaders in stakeholder engagement and risk assessment on sustainability challenges, with an emphasis on responsible sourcing, supply chains, and natural resources.

She works with partners to support progress on environmental and human rights performance and impacts across supply chains from source to product, including benefits to local communities where development and production of natural resources occur. Jen has also worked on a wide range of environmental, health, and social issues, including energy, drinking water, food safety, and chemicals management.
Key Accomplishments

Designed and launched the Public-Private Alliance for Responsible Minerals Trade, a forum for engaging with leaders and stakeholders in Central Africa to address conflict minerals and support development of a legitimate artisanal minerals sector and systems. Raised over $2 million from the private sector to put toward projects in the region.

Executive Producer of Journey of Gold, a virtual reality film funded by Google and created in partnership with companies, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and government to encourage responsible sourcing of artisanal gold (viewed over one hundred thousand times).

Worked with major companies in the jewelry supply chain along with local, NGO, and government partners to enable the first sale of conflict-free, artisanal gold from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to U.S. companies.
